The Manitoba Conservatory of Music & Arts is looking for an enthusiastic, accomplished & inspiring individual with a passionate commitment to bringing music outreach to the community. Position Summary: The Music Equals program brings music education opportunities to those in our community who face limitations to accessing music. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Music Equals Coordinator is responsible for the development, coordination & evaluation of music outreach programs for the MCMA, including supervision of project instructors, volunteer management, promotion & fund development.

Position Summary:

The Music Equals program brings music education opportunities to those in our community who face limitations to accessing music. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Music Equals Coordinator is responsible for the development, coordination & evaluation of music outreach programs for the MCMA, including supervision of project instructors, volunteer management, promotion & fund development.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop & coordinate all music outreach programming
  • Prepare program cost reports & implement program evaluation tools; prepare program budgets & course outlines
  • Create & submit program funding applications agreements & reports
  • Develop & cultivate linkages with instructors, students, community, corporate & government partners
  • Recruit & supervise instructors
  • Promote the Music Equals program to funders, donors, media, partner organization & community groups
  • Identify volunteer opportunities; recruit, train & supervise volunteers
  • Participate as member of the Music Equals Committee

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Post secondary education in music, education, community development or arts administration
  • Firm foundation in musical pedagogy
  • Good administrative skills;
  • Programming planning, implementation & evaluation skills
  • Experience working with volunteers
  • Good understanding of the not-for-profit culture
  • Good computer skills particularly with the Microsoft Office Suite of products
  • Willingness to learn new skills & adapt to new environments & challenges


Salary: $16.00 – $18.50 per hour

Hours of Work: Approximately 15 hours per week for 36 weeks from September 2018 to May 2019.  The successful candidate may choose work out of a home office or on site & will be available to attend meetings on site.
